Introduction
Anthias (“the App”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) is a free and open source application. This Privacy Policy explains how the App handles information when you use it. We are committed to protecting your privacy and minimizing the data we collect. The App does not collect any personally identifiable information, but it does send a small amount of anonymous, aggregated technical telemetry to help us understand how the App is used and improve it.
By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
Information We Collect
We do not collect any personally identifiable information.
Anthias does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any information that directly identifies you. Specifically:
- We do not require you to create an account or provide any personal information to use the App.
- We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, precise location, contacts, or any other personal identifiers.
- We do not use advertising or tracking technologies that identify you across apps or services.
Anonymous Telemetry
To help us understand how the App is used and improve it, the App sends anonymous, aggregated technical telemetry no more than once every 24 hours. This telemetry includes:
- Device identifier: the Android system-provided Android ID, or, if unavailable, a randomly generated identifier stored locally on your device. This identifier is used only to deduplicate active devices and is not linked to you personally.
- App information: version name and version code of the App.
- Device information: manufacturer, model, Android version, and Android SDK level.
- App configuration: screen rotation setting and whether playlist shuffle is enabled.
- Content statistics: the number of assets configured in the App, broken down by type (images, videos, web pages). We do not transmit asset URLs, file names, file contents, or any other details about the content you display.
This telemetry does not include your name, email address, location, IP-derived location, account identifiers, or the contents of anything you display through the App.
Any content, settings, or configuration you create within the App is otherwise stored locally on your own device and remains under your control.
Permissions
If the App requests any device permissions, these are used solely to provide the App’s core functionality on your device. The App does not use these permissions to collect or transmit personal data to us or to any third party.
Third-Party Services
Anthias uses Google Analytics (via the Google Analytics Measurement Protocol) to receive the anonymous telemetry described above. When telemetry is sent, Google may receive technical information such as your device’s IP address as part of the network request, which Google handles in accordance with its own privacy policy. The App does not integrate any advertising or other third-party data-collection services.
For more information about how Google handles this data, see Google’s Privacy Policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy.
Please note that when you download the App through an app store, the store owner may also collect certain information in accordance with its own privacy policy, independently of the App. This is outside our control. We encourage you to review the app store owner’s own privacy policy.
If your particular deployment of Anthias connects to external content sources or services that you configure (for example, web pages or media URLs you choose to display), those services are governed by their own privacy policies.
Children’s Privacy
The App does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). The anonymous telemetry described above is not linked to any individual.
Data Security
The telemetry the App sends is transmitted over HTTPS to Google Analytics. Because the telemetry contains no personally identifiable information, there is no personal data held by us that could be lost, stolen, or misused. Any information you store within the App stays on your own device, and securing that device is your responsibility.
Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under privacy laws such as the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data.
Since the App’s telemetry does not include personally identifiable information, we have no way to associate the telemetry with you and therefore no individual data to access, correct, or delete on request. You retain full control over any data stored locally on your device, and you can stop further telemetry from being sent by uninstalling the App.
International Users
The App can be used worldwide. Telemetry is transmitted to Google Analytics, which may process this data on servers located in the United States or other countries. By using the App, you acknowledge that this anonymous technical data may be processed in jurisdictions other than your own.
Open Source
Anthias is open source software. Its source code is publicly available for inspection, which allows anyone to verify the data-handling practices described in this policy, including exactly what telemetry is sent. You can review the source code here:

Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make changes, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this policy and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
