Welcome to the 4th edition of Screenly Sync, where we share the latest updates across our platform, product, and community.
March was an exciting month for us. From showcasing Screenly at Embedded World to introducing new peripheral integrations and rolling out updates to Screenly OS, we’ve been focused on expanding what’s possible with digital signage while continuing to improve reliability and performance.
Here’s everything we shipped and explored in March.
Embedded World Highlights
Embedded World was an amazing event for Screenly. We showcased our peripheral integration demo at the Raspberry Pi booth, which sparked a lot of interest and meaningful discussions. We had some very insightful conversations with industry leaders in sensors and peripheral integrations, and it was exciting to explore how Screenly can play a role in these evolving ecosystems. We are looking forward to working closely with our partners to bring more sensor and peripheral driven solutions to our users.
Introducing Peripheral Integrations
At Embedded World, we introduced the first version of our Peripheral Integrations. The demo featured an NFC reader and an environment sensor capable of reading and displaying temperature, humidity, and atmospheric pressure.
Integrated with our Edge App, we showcased a manufacturing facility access control use case. By simply tapping an NFC card, the screen identifies the user and displays relevant information based on their role.
Operators and maintenance teams see different data, all delivered through the same screen. This moves beyond traditional digital signage, where content is either fully visible or not shown at all.
Everything runs locally, ensuring low latency, improved reliability, and no dependency on cloud connectivity. This makes it especially well suited for factory and manufacturing environments where controlled access to information is essential.
You can watch the demo in the video above.
Screenly Player Mk3 Release

The Screenly Player Max Mk3 is available now.
It comes with a faster processor, DDR5 memory, and 500GB storage, with the ability for one player to drive up to four screens simultaneously.
For enterprise deployments running 4K content, real time dashboards, or Edge Apps in security critical environments, the Mk3 is built to handle it. It also includes TPM, secure boot, and cryptographically signed updates for enhanced security.
Screenly OS Updates - 4.5.0
We shipped a solid set of updates to make Screenly more secure, flexible, and easier to manage:
- Confidential Mode – Keep sensitive deployments safe by disabling screenshots in diagnostic reports
- Remote Display Power Control – Turn screens on or off remotely with backend commands
- Improved Portrait Mode – Better layout and responsiveness across intro and diagnostic screens
- Enhanced Help (F1) Screen – Now available during setup and adapts based on device features
- Tailscale VPN Support – Secure, seamless remote access to your devices
Product & Platform Updates

We introduced an Edge App categories page, making it easier to discover and navigate apps. We also released a new version of Anywhere, focused on improving overall stability and performance.
Community

We partnered with Arduino Day in Kochi as part of our ongoing effort to give back to the community. The event was co organized with amazing makers from TinkerSpace and MakerGram community, bringing together around 40 participants from across Kerala. It was a great day of learning, building, and connecting with the local maker community.
That’s all for now
That wraps up this edition of Screenly Sync.
This past month, we focused on expanding integrations, improving the platform, and connecting with the community through events and partnerships. From new hardware to OS updates and real world demos, we’re continuing to push what Screenly can do.
There’s a lot more in the pipeline, especially around integrations and Edge Apps, and we’re excited to share those with you soon.
Thanks for reading, and see you in the next Screenly Sync.
