Password login is being removed on May 21

Password login in Screenly is being removed on May 21, 2026.

We sent in-app notifications to all users on May 16. With only a few days left, we want to make sure everyone is ready before the date arrives.

Why we did not send an email

You might wonder why we did not send an email reminder to users still on password login.

The reason is straightforward.

If you no longer have access to the email address on your account, an email from us is not going to reach you.

And if you do have access to your email account, you will be able to log in without any issues anyway.

Either way, the email would not have done much.

What you need to do before May 21

If you sign in through Google, GitHub, Microsoft, or SAML, nothing changes.

If you currently use email and password, your login will switch to a one-time code sent to your email. Please make sure the email address on your account is one you can actually reach.

If you are on password login and no longer have access to the email address on your account, now is the time to update it. After May 21, a one-time code is the only way in, and it goes to whichever email address is on file.

Running into issues?

If anyone on your team hits problems logging in after the switch, contact our support team and we will get it sorted quickly.

For more background on why we made this change, see our earlier post: No more passwords in Screenly.
