Screenly from the terminal

Topic 1 of 2

The CLI is Screenly on the command line. The actions you would take in the dashboard, adding content, building a playlist, pairing a screen, you can run as commands instead.

For developers and operators who already live in a terminal, this is a faster way in: no pages to click through, you type what you want and it happens. Under the hood it talks to the same API the dashboard does, so it is another client of one Screenly, not a separate system. Work you do at the command line and work you do in the dashboard are the same work, seen two ways.

The CLI is also where Screenly’s MCP server lives, the bridge that lets AI assistants work with Screenly.
