MCP, the Model Context Protocol, is a standard way for AI assistants to connect to outside tools and act on them. An assistant that speaks it can reach any tool that offers an MCP server.
Screenly offers one. It runs as part of the CLI, and it gives an assistant a clear view of your Screenly setup, your screens, playlists, and content, along with the ability to change them. The assistant is not guessing or clicking around a screen. It works through the same actions the API and CLI expose, described in a way it can use.
