Walk through a bank branch, an office lobby, a store, or a factory floor, and you pass screens without a second thought: today’s rates, a welcome message, a current promotion, a safety notice. Thousands of people see them every day, and almost none of them know Screenly is behind it.
That is the idea. Screenly is the invisible layer that keeps the right thing on every screen.
It is a secure, cloud-based digital signage platform: it puts content on your screens and keeps it running, from a single display to thousands across different sites.
You manage all of it remotely, from one place, in a web browser.
A few different things share the Screenly name, and they are easy to run together. Here is each one, kept straight.
Screenly
On its own, the word means the cloud, where you manage it all. It is also the name of our company.
Screenly software
The part that runs on a device and does the playing, following what the cloud tells it.
ScreenlyOS
A complete operating system, built and maintained by us, whose whole job is to run the Screenly software.
Screenly Anywhere
A flexible version of the Screenly software, run as an app on the operating system a device already has, for hardware that cannot take ScreenlyOS.
Screenly Player
Our own purpose-built digital signage player, a hardware device that comes with ScreenlyOS.
Screenly App Store
A catalogue of apps you can add to your screens, mostly small, data-driven pieces of content like dashboards, calendars, news, or weather. You can use the apps we publish or build your own.
