Organizing your screens

Topic 3 of 3

One or two screens are easy to manage by hand. Once you have dozens or hundreds, you need a way to handle many at once. In Screenly, labels are that way.

What a label is

A label is a tag you put on a screen, and a screen can have as many as you like. You might label screens by location, by purpose, or by anything that helps you find them later, such as “Lobby”, “Warehouse”, or “Finance floor”.

Targeting many screens at once

Labels are not only for tidiness. You can point content at a label instead of a single screen, and every screen with that label shows it.

Assign a playlist to “Lobby”, and every lobby screen across every site plays it, including any you add later.

This is what lets a small team manage thousands of screens. You work with labels, not one display at a time.
