Set up a screen

What setting up a Screenly Anywhere screen involves, and where to find the exact steps for your device.

Setup is short. Get Screenly running on the device, then pair the device with your workspace.

The first part depends on the hardware. On some devices you install an app, on others you open a web address, and on a managed fleet your IT team pushes it out. The second part is the same everywhere: the device shows a pairing code, you enter it in your dashboard, and the screen joins your fleet.

Find your device

The steps live in the guide for your platform. Supported platforms lists every device and how each one is set up, and Platforms links straight to the guides.

What you will need at hand

Have the device connected to a display and on the network, and have your dashboard open in a browser on a computer or phone. Pairing needs both at once, because the code shown on the screen has to be typed into the dashboard.

Then configure it to run unattended

Getting content on screen takes a few minutes. Keeping it there without anyone in the room takes a little more, because most devices ship with sleep timers, screensavers, and power saving turned on.

Each platform guide has a page for this, since the settings and their names differ on every device. It is worth doing before a screen is mounted somewhere awkward to reach.
