This route assumes an IT function, not an individual setting up a screen.
It fits if
You already enroll devices centrally through the Google Admin Console, and policy is how the rest of your estate is managed.
You have Google Workspace with Chrome device management. Without it, the kiosk policy that makes this route worthwhile is not available to you.
You have PCs or Macs that still work but no longer suit their original job.
It does not fit if
You want one screen running in a few minutes. The browser route is faster on the same machine.
One thing to check on the hardware
The kiosk policy brings the screen back after a restart, but the machine still has to power itself on. Set it in the BIOS to start when mains power returns, or a power cut leaves the device off.
