# Keep it running unattended

> Turn off the sleep timer, screensaver, and auto-off schedule on an LG webOS television so the screen stays on without a remote.
Consumer televisions are designed to power themselves down after a few hours without remote input. On a signage screen nobody ever picks up a remote, so the television reaches that timer every day.

## Turn off the automatic power-off

1. Open the TV settings.
2. Turn off the sleep timer.
3. Turn off the screensaver.
4. Turn off any auto-off or energy-saving schedule.

The names differ between webOS versions, and they are not always in the same section.

The setting that catches people out is the one that powers the set down after a fixed period with no remote activity. It is often described as an energy-saving feature rather than a timer.

## Check it worked

Leave the screen running for longer than the timer you disabled, without touching the remote, and confirm it is still showing content.

> [!NOTE]
> A television that powers itself off reports as offline in your dashboard. If a screen goes offline at the same time every day, the television's own schedule is the first thing to check.
