# What the library tells you


> Dimensions, duration, resource type, status, and the URL, read from the file itself so nobody has to type them.
Each item carries details pulled from the file when it was added. Nothing here is entered by hand.

## Why look before scheduling

**Dimensions catch the mistakes that are obvious on a wall and invisible on a laptop.** A portrait image heading for a landscape screen, or a 640-pixel-wide graphic destined for a 4K display, is easier to spot here than after someone photographs the result.

**Duration is how you time a rotation.** If a playlist has to fit a known window, the video lengths in the library add up without opening each file.

**Status is the first thing to check when an item will not appear in a playlist.** Content that has not finished processing cannot be added yet, and a video showing no duration at all never finished.
