Every asset carries a source_url you can fetch yourself with the CLI or the API. Keep your originals in your own storage.

Screenly is a distribution layer, not an archive. A file you delete cannot be recovered by support.

Keep your originals in your own storage: a file server, cloud storage, or whatever asset management your organization already runs.

Retrieving what is there

Every asset has a source_url pointing at the original file, and both the CLI and the API return it.

With the CLI:

screenly asset list --json | jq -r '.[] | {title, source_url}'

With the API, the assets endpoint returns the same field. For a handful of files, fetch them by hand. For a library, script it.

Do this while the subscription is still active. Take the export first, then cancel. See Managing your subscription.
