Power on automatically

Set a Screenly Player Max Mk3 to start on its own when mains power returns, using its BIOS.

A Player Max does not start by itself after a power cut unless its BIOS is told to. On a screen nobody visits, that setting is the difference between a blip and a site visit.

Get into the BIOS

  1. Disconnect the power cable from the player.
  2. Connect a keyboard to one of the USB ports.
  3. Hold F2 or DEL, reconnect the power cable, and press the power button. Release the key once the BIOS appears.

Change the setting

  1. Move to the Power tab, using the arrow keys or a USB mouse.
  2. Set the option that controls behavior after power loss so the device powers on.
  3. Move to the last tab and choose the option to save and exit.

Check it worked

Pull the power at the wall, wait, and restore it. The player should boot on its own and return to your content with nobody touching it.

Test this before the player is mounted behind a display.
