# Keys on the player

> The keys that open the network settings, diagnostics, and device information on a ScreenlyOS player, and how those screens close.

Everything about a screen is managed from your dashboard. A few things are easier at the player itself, such as joining a network before the player can reach Screenly, or reading a serial number for support. For those, connect a USB keyboard and press one of these keys.

| Key | Opens |
| --- | --- |
| **F2** | Wi-Fi settings. See [Connect to Wi-Fi](/docs/screenlyos/networking/guides/connect-to-wifi/). |
| **F3** | Network diagnostics. See [Diagnostic errors](/docs/screenlyos/networking/reference/diagnostics-errors/). |
| **F4** | The **Diagnostics** screen, with **System**, **Disk**, and **Network** cards. |
| **F5** | Wired network settings. See [Set a static IP](/docs/screenlyos/networking/guides/set-a-static-ip/) and [Connect on an enterprise network](/docs/screenlyos/networking/guides/connect-on-an-enterprise-network/). |
| **F8** | The **Device Information** page. |

On a Pi 3, or a device on older software, press **ESC** for the Wi-Fi settings instead of **F2**.

## Device Information

The **Device Information** page lists the details support usually asks for:

- the model and serial number
- the Ethernet and Wi-Fi IP and MAC addresses
- whether secure boot and disk encryption are on

A QR code beside the list carries the same details, for when you would rather send them to your phone than copy them down. The list needs ScreenlyOS 26.10.0 or newer. Older releases show the QR code only.

## These screens close on their own

The network settings, help, diagnostics, and device information screens close after 3 minutes without a keypress, and the screen goes back to its content. Someone who opens one and gets called away does not leave a settings page on display for everyone in the room. This needs ScreenlyOS 26.6.0 or newer.
