# Supported models


> Model-by-model status for running ScreenlyOS on Scala players, covering what we have confirmed on real hardware and what still needs testing.
Scala shipped several player generations, so support is per model rather than across the range. We only call a model supported once someone here has booted one and watched it play.

## What the statuses mean

### Supported

We have installed ScreenlyOS on that model, run content on it, and confirmed it behaves.

### Likely compatible

The processor and firmware match a model we have confirmed, so we expect it to work. We have not run it ourselves, so we will not promise it.

### Needs testing

We have not put ScreenlyOS on one. It may work perfectly. We have no evidence either way, and we would rather say that than guess.

## Models

| Model | Status | Notes |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Player-SP (R1505G, current generation) | Supported | Confirmed on real hardware, including driving two displays as one joined surface. Two HDMI outputs and 8 GB of memory. |
| Player-S (R1305G, current generation) | Likely compatible | Same processor family as the Player-SP, with less memory. What it handles depends on the memory fitted, so ask us about your configuration. |
| Player-DX (B396) | Needs testing | - |
| Player-Q (B396) | Needs testing | Four outputs. We have not been able to source one to test. |
| Player-L (B308) | Needs testing | The oldest platform, and first in our test queue for that reason. |
| Player-S (B409, earlier generation) | Needs testing | Discontinued hardware, so replacement stock is the problem this route solves. |
| Player-SP (B409, earlier generation) | Needs testing | As above. |
| Player-R | Needs testing | We have little documentation on this model. |
