Wired DHCP is the default and needs no setup at all. These are the routes for everything else.
Guides
Connect a player to Wi-Fi, set a static IP, configure time servers, and use a cellular connection.
In this section
Connect to Wi-Fi
Connect a Screenly Player to a wireless network with a USB keyboard, or with a network.yaml file on a USB drive for headless setups.
Set a static IP
Assign a static IP address to a Screenly Player over ethernet with a keyboard, or over Wi-Fi with a network.yaml file on a USB drive.
Connect on an enterprise network
Use WPA2-Enterprise with 802.1X on a Screenly Player, on Wi-Fi or wired ethernet, including alongside a static IP.
Configure time servers
Screens use NTP to keep their clocks accurate. Allow ntp.ubuntu.com, or point players at a time server on your own network.
Use a cellular connection
Connect a screen over 4G or 5G with a mobile router, and the data cost and hardware limits to plan around first.
