Network Config Generator
Use this tool to generate a network.yaml file to configure Wi-Fi and network settings on devices running ScreenlyOS (Screenly Players and DIY Raspberry Pi players).
What to do with the network.yaml file:
- Copy the file onto a USB stick formatted as FAT32. No other format is supported.
The file must be named exactly network.yaml. If you downloaded more than one into the same folder, your browser may have saved it as network (1).yaml or similar, so rename it back to network.yaml before copying it over.
- Safely eject the USB stick from your computer.
- Boot up your Screenly Player. If it cannot get online with its current settings, wait for the network diagnostics to finish. For a Wi-Fi setup this shows as "Skipped Wireless Connection" with a red X icon.
- Insert the USB stick into a USB port on the player. It will apply the new network configuration and reboot itself.
- Once the player reboots and comes back up, you can remove the USB stick.
You can reuse this same USB stick on other devices. Just update the file with any device-specific changes (e.g. static IPs).
