Uploading a large video meant keeping the upload dialog open and that tab untouched until it finished. Close it, or navigate away, and the upload went with it. For a long video over an ordinary connection, that is a real chunk of someone’s afternoon spent not using Screenly.
Uploads now keep running when you close the dialog. You get progress and an estimate of the time left while they do, and you can carry on working in the meantime, including starting more uploads.
Moving between Content and a single item no longer reloads the page either, so browsing your library feels like one place rather than a series of loads.
Uploading a PowerPoint file also tells you something useful now. Screenly cannot play one directly, and the upload simply failed before, with nothing to say what to do instead. It now links to the guidance on getting a PowerPoint onto your screens.
