It
saves your current sign-in for that site along with the page, so your screens can open it without
signing in.

On some sites, the sign-in the extension saved didn’t work, and the screen showed the site’s
sign-in page or an error instead of the page you added. Sites on an address with a port number,
such as dashboard.example.com:8080, were among them. The extension now saves your sign-in for the
page exactly as your browser has it.

If this affects you: Pages saved before this version keep the sign-in they were saved with.
Open the page in your browser while signed in, select the Screenly icon, make sure “Save
Authentication” is checked, and select “Update Asset”.

Browser Extension 1.6.1: The extension shows who you're signed in as, and other improvements

The extension’s settings show who you’re signed in as, by name, or by email address when your
account has no name.

The Firefox add-on needs Firefox 102 or newer.

Browser Extension 1.6.0: Pages you've added are recognized in any browser

You added the sales dashboard from Chrome at your desk. A week later you open it in Firefox on a
laptop to change how it’s saved, and the extension knows it’s already on Screenly.

When you open the pop-up, the extension asks your Screenly account whether the page you’re on is
already there. If it is, the button reads “Update Asset” and “Save Authentication” shows how that
content was saved. It’s the same answer in Chrome and Firefox, on any computer, and after someone
else has signed in to the extension in the same browser.

Browser Extension 1.6.0: The extension tells you when a page couldn't be saved

After you select “Add to Screenly” or “Update Asset”, the pop-up waits until Screenly has accepted
the page before it shows “Web page saved”.

That usually takes a moment. If it takes more than 2 seconds, the pop-up says “This is taking
longer than expected” while it keeps waiting. If Screenly still hasn’t accepted the page after about
30 seconds, or saving fails, the pop-up shows “Failed to save web page”, so you know to try again.

Browser Extension 1.6.0: The extension shows which company you're signed in to, and other improvements

The extension’s settings show the company your Screenly account belongs to.

A home button on the settings screen, the sign-in confirmation, and the “Web page saved” screen
takes you to the page you’re on, ready to add or update it.

Browser Extension 1.5.1: Pages you added are still recognized after you sign out, and other fixes

Signing out keeps track of the pages you’ve added, so after you sign in, a page you added before
shows “Update Asset” instead of “Add to Screenly”.

A page whose content you deleted in the Screenly dashboard shows “Add to Screenly” in the pop-up,
not “Update Asset”.

“View Asset”, after you add a page, opens that content in your own Screenly dashboard.

Browser Extension 1.5.0: Signing in and out moves into the extension's pop-up

Everything the extension does happens in its pop-up now. Select the Screenly icon in the toolbar
while signed out and the pop-up shows the “Token” field and “Sign In” button right there, rather
than sending you to the extension’s options page in a new tab. Once you’re signed in, the pop-up
confirms it, and the next time you open it, it’s ready to add the page you’re on.

The gear button next to “Add to Screenly” opens settings in the same pop-up, with “Sign Out”. The
separate options page is gone.

The pop-up also has a new look, with the Screenly logo on the sign-in screen.

Browser Extension 1.5.0: Pages the extension can't add open its settings

Selecting the Screenly icon on a page the extension can’t add, such as a new tab or the browser’s
own settings, opens the extension’s settings instead of closing the pop-up straight away.

Browser Extension 1.4.0: Signing in checks your API token first, and errors give Screenly's reason

Fixes

Signing in checks your token with Screenly first. A token Screenly doesn’t accept shows “Unable to
sign in” on the sign-in page, instead of signing you in and failing when you add a page.

Improvements

When adding or updating a page fails for a reason the extension doesn’t recognize, the error
includes the reason Screenly gave.

Now you can send it to
Screenly from that tab.

Save to Screenly is on Firefox Add-ons, alongside the Chrome Web Store version. Install it, sign in
with your Screenly API token, and it works the way it does in Chrome: open the page, select the
Screenly icon in the toolbar, and select “Add to Screenly”.

The Firefox add-on has the same options as the Chrome extension, including “Save Authentication”
for pages that need you to be signed in.

Browser Extension 1.3.0: The sign-in page links to how to create an API token, and other improvements

The sign-in page links to instructions for creating a Screenly API token, next to the “Token”
