Players can keep a resolution and rotation for each display
A player can now hold a resolution and a rotation for a particular display, instead of for a port on the player. A resolution set this way also overrides the 1080p limit that Raspberry Pi 4 players otherwise apply.
Because the setting belongs to the display, it moves with it. Someone who unplugs a display during maintenance and puts the cable back in a different port gets the same picture, and a port that takes a different display each time, on an expo stand or in a demo room, gives each one the setup it had last time.
This release is the player side. You can’t set it from the dashboard yet, so there’s nothing to switch on today.
