Zabbix is used in everything from Network Operations Center (NOC) to companies of all sizes to monitor their infrastructure. Frequently, Zabbix is used on wall-mounted monitors to show real-time data. This does however require some sort of dedicated hardware to drive these monitors. This is often one or multiple desktop PC or similar.

These PC are both expensive to purchase and to maintain. With Screenly, all you need is a single Raspberry Pi per screen. We then take care of the full life cycle of the device, including software and security updates so that you and your team can focus on more important things.

How to use Zabbix with Screenly

Zabbix support numerous authentication types. Screenly supports two types of authentication setups for Zabbix:

  • Guest Mode: In this mode, the dashboards can be viewed without any authentication. This may not be suitable for all environments.
  • HTTP Authentication: When using this mode, you need to have configured the web server accordingly. When done, all you need to do is to configure Screenly authenticate using Basic Auth.

With your authentication mechanism selected, all you now need to do is to add each dashboards as an individual asset in Screenly and the device will automatically cycle through all your dashboards.
